deborah lipstadt photoThe Ray Wolpow Institute for the Study of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Crimes Against Humanity, with generous support from the Western Foundation, is hosting Historian Dr. Deborah Lipstadt on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. on the main stage of the the Performing Arts Center at Western Washington University in Bellingham.

Dr. Lipstadt's talk "History on Trial: My Day in Court with David Irving" is free and open to the public; tickets, however, are required and are already available at the WWU Box Office online or in person at the Performing Arts Center.

David Irving sued Dr. Lipstadt, a historian at Emory University, in London for calling him a Holocaust denier and right wing extremist. The judge found Irving to be a Holocaust denier, a falsifier of history, a racist, an antisemite, and a liar. The trial was described by the Daily Telegraph as having "done for the new century what the Nuremberg tribunals or the Eichman trial did for earlier generations." You might have also seen the recent Hollywood movie "Denial" (Mick Jackson, 2016), starring Rachel Weisz and Tom Wilkinson.
