The community is invited to hear Yiscah Smith speak at Congregation Beth Israel, about her new book, Planting Seeds of the Divine: Torah Commentaries to Cultivate Your Spiritual Practice, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025.

Yiscah Smith is a thought leader and spiritual activist committed to empowering others in the spiritual practice of encountering the Divine Spark within. Planting Seeds of the Divine elucidates how Judaism’s sacred texts can plant the seed of these intimate encounters that so many find elusive. This book nurtures the Jewish heart, soul, and mind by exploring each parsha with a new view and experiential practice suggestions.

Yiscah’s approach is enthusiastic, warm and engaging. She teaches classes on Jewish practice and spiritual texts at Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, and through Applied Jewish Spirituality, an online platform.
