Red Thread is a new harmony-focused ensemble playing traditional and original tunes rooted in Eastern European, Yiddish, Irish, and Americana traditions.
The new music on their recently released album, Immigrantke, is inspired by the stories and folklore of lead singer-songwriter Sarah Larsson’s immigrant ancestors from Ireland, Sweden, Poland, and Hungary. Where the songs trace a tale of moving across the sea, all the questions are about whether and when to make that choice to make the voyage, and the longing for people left behind.
